Job Description: Printing Manager

Department: Printing
Reporting To: General Manager-Production
Supervisory Role: Printing Shift In-Charge, Supervisors, Foremen

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Printing/Packaging Technology.
  • Experience: 8-12 years in a similar role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, technical knowledge of printing, quality control, and machinery operations.

Budget: As per Industry benchmarking

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Production Oversight:
    • Ensure all machines deliver quality and quantity output as per targets.
    • Supervise and guide supervisors to meet production goals.
  2. Training & Development:
    • Enhance the technical skills of subordinates through training.
  3. Quality Control & Compliance:
    • Approve job plans and ensure production quality standards are met.
    • Maintain accurate production documentation and adhere to SOPs.
  4. Efficiency Management:
    • Minimize wastage and improve operational efficiency.
  5. CAPA Management:
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve recurring issues.
  6. Safety & Discipline:
    • Ensure safety protocols and discipline within the team (uniform, breaks).
    • Monitor and address any safety or breakdown incidents.
  7. Housekeeping:
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the printing department.
  8. Reporting:
    • Provide daily updates on production performance to the GM-Operations.

Accountability:

  • Production Output: Ensure timely and quality production.
  • Quality: Address and resolve any quality issues.
  • Discipline & Safety: Ensure a disciplined, safe work environment.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and order in the department.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in printing processes (offset).
  • Production Management: Plan, organize, and ensure timely production.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high print quality and resolve issues.
  • Process Optimization: Improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Training & Development: Train staff on processes and safety.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making for production issues.
  • Materials & Ink Knowledge: Understand inks, substrates, and materials.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze production data and make improvements.
  • ERP Proficiency: Use ERP systems to track production.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure high standards in all processes.
