Research Associate

Role & responsibilities

1. Safely and effectively carry out routine synthetic organic chemistry techniques (Reactions, recrystallizations, chromatography) with supervision.

2. Be able to conduct routine synthetic organic chemistry reactions with procedures supplied and discussed by supervisor.

3. Sound chemistry knowledge and good process development skills at Small & Large Scale.

4. Have basic understanding of the reactivity and functional group compatibility of the chemical target, intermediates, and reagents employed.

5. Will follow all safety requirements strictly inside the lab.

6. Should have good communication skills and should be ready to work in shifts, if required.

7. Be familiar with common laboratory instruments.

8. Will maintain the lab record books on day-to-day basis.

9. Will report / note down all the observations made while doing the experiments.

10. Will send samples to analytical department with the consent of the group leader.

11. Hands on experience in handling mg scale to kg level reactions

12. Will maintain all reports in order.

13. Will maintain the chemicals used with proper labeling and in the right way.

14. The chemists should be aware of environmental impacts of the chemicals used / discarded (should have the MSDS of chemicals that he / she is using)

15. Will submit the signed lab record copies on regular basis.

16.Will carry out other works that is being allotted by the higher authorities.
