Substrate Layout Engineer

Summary

The Sr. Substrate/Package Layout Engineer plans, designs, and drafts schematics and layouts of different substrates or Packages based on requirements.

Essential Functions

• Drafts Package layouts for Design specifications.
• Build PCB and IC Package Library (Footprint Creation)
• Able to handle constraints-driven IC Package layout methodology.
• Having basic understanding on Signal integrity and power integrity concepts.
• Conduct layout reviews with internal layout and design teams
• Release IC Package layout drawings to the various IC Package design teams and coordinate their layout activities by ensuring compliance with the Design rules.
• Design Rules Check (DRC): Perform design rule checks to ensure that the layout meets the specific manufacturing and design guidelines.
• Perform quality assurance by using CAM350 Gerber validation tools
• Deliver Accurate layout designs by having basic Knowledge on Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Consider manufacturability and DFA : Craft for Assembly and DFT: Design for Testing.
• Proven oral and written communication skills to connect with Customers and Multi-functional teams.
• Influence outcomes and drive initiatives in sophisticated environments.
• Ensure package design is optimized with SI/PI requirements. - Explore, evaluate and develop new CAD tool, design and verification flow. - Collaborate in multi-functional discussions for package architecture and technology roadmap
• - Identify and drive cost saving opportunities and/or performance enhancing features. - Perform extraction of S-parameters and package RLGC model.
• Monitors and reports project status to Layout Services Manager on regular basis.
