Embedded - Design Engineer/ Sr. Design Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job responsibilities of this position include:

1. Design Engineer will be responsible for undertaking and assisting D&D team for following
activities:

(a) Electronics design of electro-optical devices as per design requirements.

(b) 3D modelling and design analysis of components, module and complete device.

(c) Generation of applicable design drawings.

(d) Fabrication of prototype/finalized electronic assemblies/sub-assemblies/PCBs.

(e) Mechanical assembly of complete devices etc.

(f) Design new products mechanical housing so as to incorporate PCBs, Connectors. Plugs,
Layout control models and Thermal Core/ Image intensifier Tubes etc.

(g) Modify existing designs to cater new requirements.

(h) Improve production techniques wherever applicable.

(i) Determine root cause analysis and testing activities. Manage & scope investigations into form
or function of a feature or set of features in a design. Develop test procedures wherever
applicable.

(j) Creation and refinement of complex mechanical components including Sourcing. Volume
models and Key performance parameters etc.

2.Select new parts, taking into consideration:

(a) Obsolescence

(b) Availability

(c) Cost

3. Prepares and presents electronic designs to other members of the design team and project
stakeholders at design reviews.

4. Documents full design work and prepares reports, ensuring design files and information are
kept up to date and stored in accordance with company procedures.

5. Follows departmental processes relating to management of designs and the project
management processes.

6. Analyse technology trends, market demands for product up-gradations in comparison to the
competitor's range of products, keeping in pace with global development and plan in house
projects in consultation with HOD.

7. Prepares study reports and submits to HOD in order to determine:

(a) Design feasibility

(b) Cost effectiveness

(c) Customer demand for new and existing products

8. Design Engineer will assist his reporting manager/ HOD in the following job responsibilities:

(a) Vendor Selection for the required product.

(b) Tie up with OEM's for new products and solutions.

(c) Preparing presentation on products & solution.

(d) Demonstration of the products to the clients whenever required.

(e) Study of testing and evaluation methods for Thermal and Night Vision products.

(f) Searching of new technology, Products and Solutions.

(g) Framing proposals on solution and products.

(h) Communicate with OEM for technical compliance, OEM Authorization, Certification against
the required product & product brochure against tender requirement or general
communication on regular basis

(i) Preparation of the technical specs of the products highlighting the USP (Unique Selling Points)
as well as for tender.

(j) Event participation & arranging for the same whenever required

(k) Updation of the cases with status in SAP, wherever applicable.

(l) Contact details Updation (Clients as well as vendors).

(m) Product brochures/Technical Specifications/Presentations updation on server.

9. Coordinate with engineering department for finalization and development of new product(s)
against the specific case, in line with the delivery timeline provided by the clients through
RFI/RFP/Projected tenders/Proposals).

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics or a related field.

2. Must have at least 3 - 8 years of working experience.

3. Working knowledge of electronics circuit design and analysis.

4. Should be able to troubleshoot embedded board/ systems.

5. Strong knowledge of electronics hardware, including circuit theory and electronic devices.

6. Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB Design (Min. 4 layers), controller selection, and PCB

Design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).

7. Digital design experience including microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, RS232, RS422, Ethernet etc.

8. Experience with analog design, including active/passive filters and amplifiers; knowledge in
EMI/EMC is a plus.

9. Design knowledge in analog and digital video interfacing will be a plus point.

10. Familiarity with digital design and interfaces, as well as C programming skills.

11. Proficient in using Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, and Keil/ Microchip programming

Software.

12. 3D modelling and design analysis of components, module and complete device.

13. Skilled in generating detailed technical drawings for applicable designs.

14. Hands on experience in Opto Electronic Devices and thermal image processing will be an
added advantage.

15. Must be willing to travel across India for demonstrations and trial purposes at client location.

16. Experience with ERP software, particularly SAP Business One, is preferred.
