Job Title: Head of Consulting Services
Location: KR Mangalam University Campus, Sohna Road
Reports To Director


Job Summary

The Manager of the Consulting Services will establish and lead the universitys new consulting arm, driving projects that leverage faculty expertise, student engagement, and industry partnerships. This role blends strategic planning, business development, project oversight, and relationship management to deliver high-impact consulting services. The successful candidate will ensure quality deliverables, financial sustainability, and alignment with the universitys mission and academic standards.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development

  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy for the consulting vertical, identifying key sectors, potential clients, and revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with university leadership to integrate consulting services into overall institutional goals and research objectives.

Business Development & Client Management

  • Build relationships with corporations, government agencies, NGOs, and other organizations to secure consulting projects.
  • Prepare proposals, pitch presentations, and cost estimates; negotiate contracts and manage client expectations.
  • Represent the universitys consulting capabilities at conferences, networking events, and relevant industry forums.

Project Oversight & Delivery

  • Lead project scoping, resource allocation (faculty, students, external partners), and timeline management.
  • Oversee project teams to ensure quality standards, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement best practices in project management, including risk assessment, milestone tracking, and reporting.

Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders

  • Work closely with faculty to tap into subject-matter expertise and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Engage students in consulting projects where feasible, creating real-world learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate with university departments (e.g., finance, legal) to streamline contracting and billing processes.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the consulting verticals budget, ensuring profitability and resource efficiency.
  • Track key financial metrics (revenue, margins, expenses) and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Recommend pricing strategies, establish billing rates, and oversee invoicing.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Maintain high professional standards and ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and client confidentiality.
  • Implement processes for continuous improvement and conduct post-project evaluations for learning and refinement.

Marketing & Brand Building

  • Work with the university’s marketing team to develop promotional materials, success stories, and case studies.
  • Position the consulting vertical as a thought leader in the relevant domain(s).

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s or MBA preferred (Business, Management, or related fields). A combination of relevant industry/consulting experience and an academic background is valued.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in consulting, project management, or a related leadership role.
  • Demonstrated track record in developing new business, managing client relationships, and delivering complex projects.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify market opportunities and translate them into viable business plans.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver on ambitious targets.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent written and verbal communication; adept at stakeholder engagement.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience in budgeting, pricing, and revenue forecasting.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and guide faculty, students, and external partners.
