Job Description : Interface Developer
Role Overview :
We are seeking a skilled Healthcare IT Interface Developer with 2-4 years of experience in developing and managing healthcare interoperability interfaces.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HL7 standards, FHIR, interface engines, and relational databases, along with a deep understanding of US Healthcare IT workflows.
Must-Have Skill Set :
- Proficiency in HL7 v2.x or FHIR R4 (one is mandatory).
- Experience with Mirth Interface Engine.
- Strong programming skills in Java and JavaScript.
- Proficiency in XML and Webservices.
- Knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL (other relational databases also acceptable).
Good-to-Have Skills :
- Experience with other HL7 interface engines.
- Familiarity with cloud tools like AWS or Azure.
- Certification in FHIR R4 or HL7 v2.
Experience Requirements :
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in US Healthcare IT Interface Development (not implementation).
- Proven experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 v2.x and FHIR.
- Expertise in developing standard interfaces, including : ADT, SIU, DFT, CCD, ORM, ORU, VXU.
- Hands-on experience with interface engines such as Mirth
- Proficiency in programming concepts including Java, JavaScript, XML, and web services.
- Advanced query writing and database management skills, preferably with PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, test, and maintain interfaces that adhere to HL7 and FHIR standards.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors, hospitals, and labs to ensure seamless integration.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and Meaningful Use objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to interface functionality and data exchange.
- Maintain a solid understanding of US Healthcare workflows and hospital/patient data management.
Additional Skills :
- Basic knowledge of Linux commands, networking, and network data communications (LANs, WANs, VPNs).
- Strong understanding of US healthcare standards and workflows, including meaningful use core objectives.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with stakeholders.
