Deputy Manager - Mechanical

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Management & Maintenance

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of construction equipment such as tower cranes, concrete pumps, hoists, batching plants, excavators, and generators.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure machinery is in good working condition.

2. Procurement & Inventory Control

• Assist in the selection, procurement, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables required for maintenance.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of spare parts and services.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all equipment meets safety regulations and operational standards as per local and international guidelines.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents.
• Train operators and site personnel on the proper use and safety protocols for heavy machinery.

4. Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in construction machinery.
• Work with technicians and mechanics to resolve breakdowns in a timely manner to avoid project delays.
• Recommend modifications or upgrades to improve equipment efficiency.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of machinery performance, maintenance activities, and breakdown history.
• Prepare reports on equipment utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory documentation for heavy equipment operation.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in managing plant & machinery in high-rise construction projects.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of construction equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Experience in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
