System Test Engineer

Senior Engineer -QA Automation

Perform Firmware validation activities like Test Setup, Test Development, Execution & Test artifacts generation and contribute to smooth execution of all test Projects of Kitchen and Bath Automation Products. Work with Firmware Development team during development and testing. Participate in support product development and organization initiatives. Organize and execute test activities by using formal test methodology and effective Test Automation.

Representative Duties:

1. Responsible for test activities for firmware testing for Kitchen and Bath Automation Products.
2. Provide technical support on products / technology.
3. Responsible for designing the automation framework, maintaining it.
4. Ensure the right tools, technologies and platforms are chosen for the testing. Improve test execution by using the right tools and technologies.
5. and identify the potential test cases for automation and estimate the ROI.
6.  Develop test objectives, test cases, test inputs, test procedures for product testing from Mobile and firmware requirements.
7.  Ensure optimum test coverage including test to pass and fail and prepare the manual vs Automation matrix.
8. Establish guidelines and best practices in the group to ensure an effective test development process and well tested products.
9. Track and capture metrics for test schedule, test quality, test configuration management and test project management documents.
10.  Maintain high degree of source control; manage bug tracking, change requests and improvement logs.

12. Help Lead to prepare the test setup management and implement methods for repeatability with minimum maintenance.
13. Provide support to test lead in test management activities like defining test strategy, creating test plan, planning test schedule for test development and regression test, developing test designs and test.
14.  Work well in a structured but Agile development environment conforming to CMM standards. Work with other project teams to identify, select / prioritize development of future projects. 10.Experience in schematic understanding.

Technical skills:

Must have Skills:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience with Embedded Software Testing /Automation testing/ programming using Test management tool like JIRA, VSTS, MQC etc.
2. Minimum 5+ years of python programming experience with proven testing background.
3. Internal Communication: For internal & partner use only.
4. Good Knowledge of Electronics is required.
5. Experience in Automating test cases with different communication protocols Wired or Wireless (BLE, Ethernet, RS232)
6. Extensive work experience in robot framework with python for Embedded products.
7. Well versed in using hardware and software tools for test development.
8. Proficient with test configuration management, test artifact version control processes and testing tools. Knowledge of Subversion is desired.

Additional required Skills:

1. Proficient with MS Office Tools (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
2.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3. Experience in working with internal and external partners.
4.  Foster and maintain positive relationships with local and global test team members.
5.  Problem Solving and Decision Making, Planning and Organizing, Building Effective Teams, Result Oriented Internal Communication: For internal & partner use only.
6.  Experience and Education:  Bachelors or Masters in Electronics or Electronics & Instrumentation or Computer Engineering (similar or higher)
7. 5 to 9 years in software engineering focused on testing and validation of embedded software.
8. ISTQB Foundation level (or equivalent) certification.

Nice to have Skills:

1. Basic understanding of Cloud.
2. Good Knowledge of API and performance testing.
3. Smart IOT domain knowledge will be an added plus.
