Design Engineer (NPD)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Product Design & Development: Contribute to the design and development of new products, spanning from concept generation to detailed design, prototyping, testing, and validation.
• Design Concept & Analysis: Develop design concepts and perform design analysis, including manual calculations to assess feasibility, strength, and reliability.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Use FEA tools, specifically ANSYS, to analyze and validate the performance of designs under different conditions, ensuring optimal strength and durability.
• Technical Drawings: Prepare and check detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and catalog parts for accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Production Readiness: Finalize and release designs for production, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with design specifications.
• Bill of Materials (BOM): Prepare and manage the Bill of Materials for all components and assemblies related to product designs.
• CAD Modeling: Utilize CAD software such as CREO, AutoCAD, and similar tools to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed component drawings.
• Product Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform engineering analyses and simulations that enhance product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Competency Required:

• CAD Tools: Proficiency in both 2D and 3D CAD tools such as CREO and AutoCAD to produce high-quality models and technical drawings.
• Design Standards: Solid understanding of industry design standards such as ISO, DIN, ASME, and JIS to ensure compliance.
• PLM & SAP Software: Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems and SAP for managing design data and collaborating with different teams.
• FEA Tools: Expertise in using FEA tools, particularly ANSYS, for structural and performance analysis of product designs.
• Manufacturing Experience: Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment is mandatory to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and optimized for production.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Mechanical) or a Postgraduate degree (M.E. / M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field).
• Experience: 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, product development, and FEA analysis, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
