Cam Programmer 4th Axis Machine

We are seeking a skilled and experienced 4th Axis CAM Programmer with expertise in simultaneous programming for precision manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for creating efficient CAM programs, optimizing machining processes, and ensuring the production of high-quality components using advanced 4-axis CNC machines.

Role & responsibilities

CAM Programming:

• Develop and implement 4th axis simultaneous machining programs for complex components.
• Utilize CAM software to generate tool paths and optimize machining strategies.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Machine Operation and Setup:

• Operate and monitor 4-axis CNC machines during production runs.
• Assist in the setup of 4-axis CNC machines for production.
• Conduct test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and precision.

Machining Process Optimization:

• Analyze machining operations to improve cycle time, tool life, and surface finish.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.

Machine Setup and Testing:

• Assist in the setup of 4-axis CNC machines for production runs.
• Conduct test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and precision.

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure programmed outputs meet design tolerances and quality standards.
• Address and resolve machining defects or inconsistencies.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain records of CAM programs, tool libraries, and machining processes.
• Prepare detailed reports on machining performance and improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, SolidCAM, or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with 4th axis simultaneous programming and machining.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in CAM programming for CNC machines, specifically 4-axis systems.
• Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC control systems.

Knowledge Base:

• In-depth knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, and materials.
• Familiarity with CAD software and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
