We are hiring for the role of Chief - Mechanical Maintenance & Internal Projects

Position Overview:

• Designation: Chief - Mechanical Maintenance & Internal Projects
• Reports to: Head - Operations
• Function: Mechanical Maintenance
• Purpose: Lead and control plant-level mechanical maintenance, ensuring machine health, supporting critical projects, and overseeing engineering functions for effective operations of utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Breakdown Maintenance:
   
• Review daily logs and equipment health.
• Manage utility maintenance, including spare and AMC management.
• Inspect machines, assess repair or replacement needs, and address pending maintenance actions.
2. Preventive Maintenance:
   
• Execute planned maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Review PM activities, ensure adherence to schedules, and ensure spare part availability.
3. Spare Part Management:
   
• Define critical spares, manage spare levels, and ensure budget alignment.
• Lead vendor negotiations for spare part procurement and performance monitoring.
4. Internal Projects:
   
• Authorize project budgets and finalise technical scopes.
• Manage procurement, cost reduction, and project execution with internal and external teams.
• Ensure safety compliance during project execution.
5. Employee Engagement & Safety:
   
• Ensure zero lost time accidents and promote a safety culture.
• Foster positive engagement and teamwork.
6. Manufacturing Excellence:
   
• Oversee mechanical performance metrics like MTTR, MTBF, and OEE.
• Review equipment utilization and lead internal/external projects.
• Manage downtime analysis and ensure adherence to SOPs.

Success Profile:

• Education: B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 25+ years of experience.
• Experience: 15-20 years in mechanical maintenance, ideally in cement or related industries, with knowledge of plant operations, shutdown activities, and project commissioning.
• Competencies:
• Behavioral: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Technical: In-depth knowledge of plant operations, cost systems, and safety guidelines, with expertise in SAP modules (MM and PM).
• Personality Traits: Integrity, attention to detail, collaboration, positive attitude.
