Inventory Planner

Role & responsibilities:

Inventory Management Ordering and Planning Process

• Plan the requirements of Spare Parts for various models and variants based on information from Sales and Marketing, Dealerships, etc.
• Monitor the inventory levels through IT systems for various Spare Parts and review the inventory movement to ensure effective planning.
• Forecast the requirements for various items through IT systems based on defined re-order point and 12 - month usage pattern.
• Monitor the back - orders and plan for change in delivery timelines / prioritization to air freight.
• Plan for air / sea freights based on urgency and criticality of requirements and ensure cost optimization.
• Track obsolete stocks and coordinate for their disposal.
• Ensure continuous improvements and enhancements in inventory Management.
• Plan the inventory and procurement w.r.t line items, product, vendor, type of order, etc.
• Place orders on Parent Warehouse / Vendors based on pre- defined reorder points and any additional requirements.
• Engage with teams at Parent Warehouse / vendors regularly to discuss stocks, order in transit and plans to ensure ordering pipeline is ready.
• Review requirements for emergency orders (for example- for vehicle off road) and prioritize ordering accordingly.
• Organize for re-export / reverse logistics for wrong supply of Parts; Coordinate with Parent Warehouse team, Vendors to plan for the same.
• Liaise with Export - Import team for documentation and approvals for such reverse logistics; Liaise with clearing agents when needed.
• Coordinate for claims for damaged parts / short supply received. Liaise with Insurance companies as required.
• Coordinate for delivery timelines, back orders and for providing clarifications.
• Design the initial parts basket for new vehicle launches received from Mercedes Benz AG and share inputs regarding specific requirement for Indian conditions.
• Co-ordinate with internal stake holders to prepare Logistics performance reports.
• Support with data to prepare necessary performance reports.
• Provide MIS reports to MB India team related to Parts Logistics management.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Graduate in any stream with expertise in Advanced Excel and experience in Inventory Control, Planning and Procurement processes. Min. 3-yr experience working in this space is a must, preferably in Automobile sector.
• Good email and communication skills and mastery over English language is also required.
