Role Summary : The Lead Analyst for AIF and Private Equity will play a crucial role in evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and managing portfolio performance for alternative investments. This position requires deep expertise in private equity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop investment strategies across various sectors. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in AIF, private equity, Reit, InvIT and high-level investment analysis to support our growth and investment objectives
Investment Analysis & Due Diligence
- Conduct in-depth analysis and due diligence on potential private equity and alternative investments
- Assess the financial and operational health of target companies and funds
- Develop and refine financial models to evaluate investment returns, cash flows, and exit strategies
- Identify potential risks and mitigations, assessing both macroeconomic factors and sector-specific conditions
- Specific Responsibilities: Portfolio Management & Monitoring
- Oversee and monitor the performance of existing investments within AIF and private equity portfolios
- Regularly review portfolio companies' financial performance and operational milestones
- Conduct ongoing risk assessment and portfolio rebalancing to align with investment objectives
- Work closely with portfolio companies to ensure value creation and strategic alignment with fund goals
- Market Research & Sectoral Insights
- Perform market research and analyze industry trends to identify new investment opportunities
- Develop insights on key sectors including technology, healthcare, consumer goods, and infrastructure
- Prepare sector-specific reports to support investment strategy development and decision-making
- Deal Structuring & Negotiation
- Lead the structuring and negotiation of investment deals, ensuring alignment with investment criteria and risk tolerance
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and tax teams to optimize deal structures
- Prepare comprehensive investment memos and presentations for the Investment Committee
- Stakeholder Communication
- Present investment recommendations and portfolio updates to senior management, investors, and the
- Investment Committee
- Build relationships with industry experts, attend conferences, and stay current on competitor strategies and market movements
- Contribute to thought leadership by publishing sector analyses, market outlooks, and investment insights
Technical Skills
Key Performance Indicators
Skills & Competencies : - Expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, IRR, multiples), and sensitivity analysis
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, PitchBook, Preqin)
- Familiarity with legal, tax, and regulatory aspects of private equity and AIF
Qualification Requirement:
(Min. Education, Certifications etc.) - MBA (Finance), CFA, or CA preferred
- A background in Economics, Finance, or a related field is advantageous
Relevant Work-experience Required: - 5-10 years of relevant experience in AIF, PrivateEquity, REIT, Venture Capital or Investment Analysis
- Proven track record in sourcing, evaluating, and managing private equity investments
- Strong knowledge of portfolio management, with experience in monitoring and optimizing investment performance
- Familiarity with alternative investment structures and their regulatory requirements in India
