The QC/QA Engineer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of products, services, or systems throughout their lifecycle. They are tasked with implementing quality control processes, conducting inspections, and analyzing data to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. The QC / QA Engineer also works to improve existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and prevent defects to guarantee customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control (QC) Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections and tests on products, materials, or services at various stages of production or service delivery.
Verify that products meet the required specifications, tolerances, and standards.
Document inspection and test results, recording any defects, issues, or non-conformities.
Perform visual and physical testing, including measuring, sampling, and documenting results.
Analyze product defects and assist in identifying root causes.
Perform corrective actions to address quality issues and collaborate with production teams to implement solutions.
Quality Assurance (QA) Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure quality consistency.
Conduct audits and reviews of processes to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Work with design and production teams to ensure that quality assurance practices are integrated into the product design and manufacturing processes.
Review project documentation, including design and process specifications, to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Assist in developing and maintaining a quality management system (QMS) in compliance with ISO or other relevant standards.
Continuously assess and improve QA processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities.
Prepare detailed reports on findings, including non-conformities, corrective actions, and recommendations for improvements.
Maintain traceability of materials, processes, and testing data for quality control purposes.
Prepare and submit periodic quality reports to management, outlining quality performance, issues, and improvements.
Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate and resolve quality issues and non-conformities by performing root cause analysis.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, production, suppliers) to find solutions to quality problems.
