The Project Engineer (Mechanical) will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing mechanical engineering projects. They will work closely with design teams, procurement, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the project meets technical requirements, budgetary constraints, and timelines. The Project Engineer (Mechanical) will also handle troubleshooting and problem-solving, ensuring that any technical issues are resolved efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and project managers to integrate mechanical systems with other project components.
Oversee the development and review of engineering drawings, designs, and technical specifications.
Ensure the mechanical design complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Design and Engineering:
Review and approve mechanical designs and engineering drawings, ensuring they meet the project requirements.
Provide technical input for the design of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical machinery or equipment.
Optimize mechanical designs to ensure they are cost-effective, energy-efficient, and sustainable.
Evaluate and select materials, components, and systems that align with project specifications.
Coordination and Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all mechanical engineering aspects of the project.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that mechanical systems are designed, fabricated, and installed to the required standards.
Ensure effective communication between internal teams and external stakeholders to address any technical or logistical challenges.
Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates for clients and senior management.
Procurement and Resource Management:
Assist in the procurement process, including evaluating and selecting suppliers for mechanical components and systems.
Monitor and manage the allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Ensure that all materials and equipment are delivered on time and meet the necessary specifications.
Quality Control and Compliance:
Oversee the quality control processes to ensure that all mechanical systems are installed and function according to design specifications.
Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure that work complies with safety and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations, including environmental and safety codes.
