System Administration - Intern

We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator with a diploma or equivalent qualification to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring operating systems, managing IT assets, and providing support for various IT related tasks.

The role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to resolve

tickets within established service level agreements (SLAs).

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other hardware

devices..

• Perform installation and configuration of Windows operating systems.
• Install and manage antivirus products to ensure system security and protection against threats.
• Provide support for OS-related issues and ensure systems are up to date with the latest patches

and updates.

• Provide basic troubleshooting for networking issues, including LAN, WAN, and basic

installation/configuration of routing and switching.

• Configure and troubleshoot network printers, scanners, and local printers at the L1 support

level.

• Maintain and track all IT assets, ensuring accurate inventory records.
• Monitor the performance of the IT infrastructure and suggest improvements to enhance

efficiency.

• Manage data backup processes and perform data recovery as needed to ensure the integrity

and availability of company data.

• Resolve tickets raised by end users through floor support, remote support, and call support,

adhering to established SLAs.

• Communicate effectively with users via telephone and email, providing clear and concise

instructions.

• Ensure all IT-related issues are resolved promptly to minimize downtime and disruption to

business operations.

• Collaborate with other IT team members to deliver comprehensive support to the organization.

Technical Expertise you'll have.

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in IT or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of hardware troubleshooting for desktops, laptops.
• Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows, Linux, and Mac operating

systems.

• Experience in managing antivirus products and ensuring system security.
• Basic understanding of networking, including LAN, WAN, routing, and switching.
• Basic Knowledge on ITIL processes like Incident and Change
• Familiarity with IT asset management and data backup/recovery processes.
• Ability to resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
