MYP, IGCSE and IBDP Economics Teacher

Job Summary:

Kanakia International School - IB, Chembur, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Economics Teacher to teach students across Grades 9 to 12, covering MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP curricula. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in teaching IBDP Economics, with the ability to inspire students, foster critical thinking, and prepare them for academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:

• Teach Economics to Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, ensuring alignment with the MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP curricula.
• Deliver engaging and effective lessons that develop students' understanding of economic concepts, theories, and real-world applications.
• Prepare students for IGCSE and IBDP Economics assessments with a focus on achieving excellent academic outcomes.

2. Student Engagement and Support:

• Foster an inquiry-based learning environment that encourages students to critically analyze economic issues and develop independent thought.
• Provide individualized support to students to help them achieve their academic goals and address learning gaps.

3. Assessment and Reporting:

• Design and administer assessments in line with the requirements of MYP, IGCSE, and IBDP Economics.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare reports for parents and school management.

4. Collaboration and Professional Development:

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to align lessons with interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest trends in Economics education and IB teaching methodologies.

5. Academic Mentorship:

• Guide and mentor students on extended essays, internal assessments, and other components of the IBDP Economics curriculum.
• Support students in developing research skills, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Masters degree in Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 4-8 years of experience teaching Economics, with a strong emphasis on IBDP Economics.
• Familiarity with the MYP and IGCSE Economics curricula is preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to inspire and challenge students to achieve their full potential.
