Job Description

Job Summary: The Area Sales Executive (ASE) for Retail Sales in the Kajaria Ceramics is responsible for driving sales growth and overseeing sales operations within a designated geographical area. The ASE will work to increase the market share of the company's products by establishing and nurturing strong relationships with retail partners, distributors, and key stakeholders. The Area Sales Executive will also focus on ensuring product availability, monitoring competitor activity, and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve business targets. This role requires a hands-on approach to leadership, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the retail sales dynamics within the tile industry. Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Target Achievement:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for retail sales within the assigned area to achieve revenue and market share growth.
  • Set monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the team and track progress against these targets.
  • Drive sales performance through efficient use of resources and sales tools

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with retail partners, distributors, and key customers.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional strategies with key accounts.
  • Ensure strong brand visibility and positioning at retail outlets through effective in-store merchandising and promotional campaigns.

Market & Competitor Analysis:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor products, pricing strategies, and market conditions to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing and product development teams to help shape future product offerings and promotional strategies.
  • Gather customer feedback to continuously improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.

Sales Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Prepare regular sales reports detailing performance, sales forecasts, and trends for upper management.
  • Analyze sales data to make data-driven decisions and optimize the sales approach.
  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting and order management to maintain product stock levels in retail outlets.

Promotions & Marketing Activities:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute retail promotional campaigns, events, and product launches.
  • Ensure that promotional materials, product samples, and visual merchandising standards are consistently adhered to in retail locations.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of retail promotions and adjust strategies as needed to drive sales.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree. A Master's degree or an MBA is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales management, with at least 2-3 years in the retail sales sector (preferably in the tiles, flooring, or home improvement industry).
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Experience managing a sales team and working with retail partners.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of retail sales processes and customer behavior.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of the tile industry, including products, trends, and competitors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM tools.

Working Conditions:

Travel: Frequent travel within the designated area to meet with retail partners and customers.
