Horticulture Teacher

JOB Title: Horticulture teacher

Job Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable teacher to educate students on horticulture, including gardening, fruit and vegetable cultivation, polyhouse farming, and hydroponics. The ideal candidate should have a degree in horticulture, agriculture, botany, or a related field, along with a passion for teaching and relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct Engaging Lessons Deliver horticulture sessions for Grades 1 to 8 as per the lesson plan, incorporating hands-on learning.
• Facilitate Practical Training – Organize and oversee gardening activities in school gardens and polyhouses, including seed sowing, transplanting, and plant care.
• Manage Polyhouse Cultivation – Ensure proper growth of crops in the polyhouse to support educational learning and student activities.
• Teach Sustainable Practices – Educate students on plant nutrition, pest and disease management, and eco-friendly gardening techniques.
• Encourage Green Habits – Inspire students to cultivate plants, understand plant science, and develop a lifelong appreciation for nature.

Qualifications:

❖ Education:

➢ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, Environmental Science, or biology.

❖ Experience:

➢ Prior teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.

➢ Practical knowledge of gardening, nursery management, and plant care.

❖ Skills:

❖ Passionate about teaching and working with students.

❖ Able to conduct hands-on gardening activities.

❖ Good communication and classroom management skills.

❖ Basic knowledge of plant cultivation.

❖ Able to manage school gardens and polyhouse effectively.
