Position Overview


KL University is seeking a skilled and proactive Campus IT Incharge to oversee and manage

the IT operations across its campus. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience

in the IT industry or educational institutions and will be responsible for maintaining robust IT

infrastructure, providing technical support, and ensuring seamless digital operations to

support academic and administrative functions. The candidate should have 6+ years of

experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.


Key Responsibilities


1. IT Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of hardware, software, and networking systems across the campus.
  • Ensure reliable internet connectivity, server performance, and network security.
  • Implement and manage IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high operational efficiency.
  • CCTV Management.

2. Technical Support

  • Provide timely IT support to faculty, staff, and students, resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and networks.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized IT support and procurement.
  • Conduct regular audits and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and improve user experience.

3. System Administration

  • Maintain and monitor servers, databases, and enterprise applications such as ERP and LMS platforms.
  • Ensure data backups, disaster recovery plans, and system redundancies are in place.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

4. Cybersecurity and Compliance

  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, antivirus systems, and secure protocols.
  • Ensure IT operations comply with relevant regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Regularly update security systems and conduct vulnerability assessments.

5. Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the campus IT support team, ensuring consistent and quality service delivery.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate team performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement within the team.

6. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with academic and administrative departments to understand and fulfill their IT requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues on campus.
  • Collaborate with the central IT team to align campus IT operations with university-wide goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (mandatory).
  • Certifications in networking (e.g., CCNA), cybersecurity, or system administration are highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in IT support and system administration, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization tools, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with database management and backup solutions.
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and IT governance best practices.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of network administration, hardware troubleshooting, and software maintenance.
  • Proficiency in managing IT systems, including ERP, LMS, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
