Billing Engineer

• Prepare Certificate of Payment and submit bills for approval.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, project managers, and accounts departments for smooth bill processing.
• Address client queries related to billing and documentation.
• Assist in preparing amendments to work orders and contract adjustments.
• Conduct random site visits to verify the physical progress of billed work.
• Coordinate with project teams to validate on-site measurements and billing accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with CPWD and government project billing guidelines.
• Study BOQ (Bill of Quantities) as per project specifications and extract quantities from drawings.
• Prepare and certify RA (Running Account) bills for clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper billing documentation and maintain records for audits and approvals.
• Prepare and submit extra item claims and ensure proper approvals.
• Ensure bills are error-free and in compliance with contractual terms.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation statements for construction materials.
• Verify theoretical consumption of steel, cement, and other materials and identify excess consumption or wastage.
• Ensure recoveries for excess material usage and faulty work through debit notes.
• Maintain cost records and track material consumption reports.
• Ensure billing processes comply with ISO 9001 standards and company policies.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for audits.
• Provide billing-related reports to management and stakeholders as required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years in billing, preferably in CPWD/government projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ, rate analysis, material reconciliation, and RA bill preparation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, ERP software, and billing tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
