Job Summary: As a Quantity Surveyor in the real estate industry, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction and development projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that construction projects are executed within budget and cost-effective, while maintaining quality standards. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing budgets, analyzing expenses, and monitoring progress throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation: Collaborate with the project team to accurately estimate the costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for the construction project.
2. Budget Preparation: Prepare detailed budgets based on the cost estimates and project requirements, taking into account all necessary factors such as contingencies and inflation.
3. Procurement: Manage the procurement process, including sourcing materials and subcontractors at the most competitive prices while ensuring quality and compliance with project specifications.
4. Contract Management: Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to establish favorable terms and conditions for the project.
5. Cost Control: Monitor project expenses regularly to ensure adherence to the budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement appropriate measures to control expenditure.
6. Change Management: Evaluate the impact of any changes or variations in the project scope and adjust budgets and cost estimates accordingly.
7. Valuation and Payment: Prepare interim and final valuations for the work done by contractors and subcontractors, and facilitate payment processes in accordance with contractual terms.
8. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and advise the project team on measures to mitigate cost-related risks.
9. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Prepare and present regular reports on project costs, progress, and financial status to stakeholders.
10. Post-Construction Evaluation: Conduct post-construction evaluations to assess the actual costs against the budget and identify areas for improvement in future projects.
