Job Description

Position Name: Manager IT for New Businesses

1. Information Technology (IT) is an integral part of operations starting from Shop floor to Board room; Thought leadership towards empowering business leaders with the latest state of the art IT systems is the prime objective along with keeping the lights on through effective routine support and properly managed & controlled Change Management.
2. Manager IT is also accountable for the budget allotted to the function by way of governing the project implementations, business team and vendor management and also in effective utilization of the resources available to operate.
3. Deriving futuristic roadmaps to ensure advanced and sustained IT enablement with the growing JSW landscape is an important responsibility of this position.

Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)

1. Preparing IT landscape
2. Budgeting and project approvals
3. Governance of spend and project deliverables
4. Reporting / MIS to both IT and business
5. Change management
6. Monitoring support across the IT landscape

1. Strategic:
1. Architecture:
1. Defining Mfg-IT roadmap for the new businesses;
2. Publish approved roadmap with budget approval requests
3. Coordinate the project Implementation, conclude and help improve adoption
2. Analytics:
1. Contribute towards selection and implementation of the right analytics platform
3. Security:
1. Participate in defining and implementation and compliance of the IT policies and the IT security needs

1. People Management:
1. Organization recruitments and stabilization in Mfg IT systems; Maintain a judicious mix of in-sourcing and out-sourcing in MES
2. Motivate team to take challenging tasks to create leaders in IT team
3. Deploy a judicious mix of in-sourcing and out-sourcing to have a balance for technology and people
2. Project Execution:
1. Execute all projects with Senior Management Governance and as per schedule (no time overrun and no cost overrun)
2. Ensure adequate user participation at all stages of projects to ensure effective adoption and adaption
3. Define hand shake and knowledge transfer needs / rules to ensure effective support and change management
3. Change Management
1. Ensure governance by remaining assertive towards sporadic requirements / changes
2. Establish required documentation standards and templates where possible
3. Target reduction of support calls and gain maturity in the IT systems

Educational Background and Work Experience

• Minimum - Engineering Degree with a Management course

Competencies: Understands both IT software and hardware technologies and infrastructure / architecture
Can lead people while accomplishing above KRAs
Other information: Trusted advisor to business
Overall responsible for business engagement and business users’ satisfaction. Ensures that appropriate processes are implemented to measure levels of satisfaction
Leadership development planning / execution
Engages with PMO and works to ensure proper resource management
Manages continuous improvement
Anticipates likely escalation and resolve it by mobilizing resources / putting workaround solutions in timely manner with help from Delivery team
