Power BI Senior Data Specialist

Main Responsibilities:

As a Professional Power BI Data Specialist, your role will involve data modeling with a particular focus on the European companies of the JE group. You will cover the full scope of VAT compliance, ensuring accurate and efficient reporting and analysis.

• Data Analysis & Visualization: Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to tax reporting, compliance, and forecasting. Transform raw data into meaningful insights by creating interactive, user-friendly visualizations. Perform data extraction, cleansing, and transformation to support tax analytics initiatives.
• Collaboration with the Tax Team: Work closely with the Tax Team to understand their data requirements and ensure timely delivery of accurate reports. Collaborate with other departments to gather data inputs required for tax filings and strategic decisions. Support tax audits by providing detailed, on-demand reports and historical data analysis.
• Data Management & Governance: Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Establish and document procedures for data processing, reporting, and quality assurance. Manage large datasets with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
• Advanced Analytics & Process Optimization: Perform predictive analytics to identify tax-saving opportunities and mitigate risks. Automate repetitive reporting tasks using Power BI features, DAX, and Power Query. Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of tax data workflows.
• Tax KPI Reports: Create interactive dashboards to highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) for tax, enabling better trend analysis and early detection of variances.
• Budget Reports and Cash Forecasts and Trend Analysis: Streamline budget reporting and cash forecasting with Power BI solutions. Build analytics and trend analysis on tax data such as tax provisions, tax payments, and NOLs.
• Reduction of Manual Workload: Develop macros to automate complex calculations, data transformations, and report formatting in Excel, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Automate repetitive tasks like data entry, report generation, and data consolidation using Power Automate.
• Corporate Tax Calculation Reviews: Automate reviews based on various received documents. Explore and automate tax form completion using templates.
• Tax Compliance Checks: Use AI or other tools to check for compliance with tax regulation changes for local jurisdictions and BEPS 2.0. Set up automated notifications for deadlines and tax regulation changes.
• Data Gathering and Archiving: Automate data gathering from emails to databases and document archiving.
• Customer Statement Preparations: Automate the preparation of customer statements and download PODs from different customer portals, saving them to SharePoint.

Educational & Background Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, preferably within a tax, accounting, or finance environment
• A Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or Statistics or related disciplines from a recognized Institution
• Proven experience developing Power BI dashboards and managing large datasets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Execution focused personality that is driven by taking ownership within your areas of responsibility
• Excellent collaboration and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Confident MS Office user, Excel skills (functions, pivot table ; familiarity with macros, programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis is a plus]
• Strong team player, excellent intercultural skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
• Experience in working with Oracle is an advantage
