Transport Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Transport Manager to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of geographical principles, and excellent analytical capabilities to optimize our transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of transport coordinators and drivers
• Oversee scheduling, training, and performance management of transport staff
• Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement
• Substantially contributed towards raising employee satisfaction levels (E-sat) through E mail, personal floor visits, help desk and a web-based transport logistics management system.

Geographical Knowledge Application:

• Utilize extensive geographical understanding to optimize route planning and logistics
• Analyses and improve transportation networks based on regional and local factors
• Stay informed about geographical changes that may impact transport operations

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive transportation analytics using Power BI, Advanced Excel etc.
• Create insightful dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators
• Use analytical skills to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
• Maintaining all MIS reports & Provide Weekly/ Monthly MIS to the Management in prescribed formats

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate effectively with internal departments, including operations, sales, and finance
• Manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
• Communicate complex transport data and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Preparing SOP documents for any new process implementation in daily activities
• Develop, implement, and regularly update transportation-specific crisis management and business continuity plans (BCPs) to address potential disruptions in transportation services (e.g., accidents, pandemics, extreme weather).

Strategic Planning and Optimization:

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance transportation efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Analyses market trends and competitor practices to maintain a competitive edge
• Ensure compliance with relevant transportation laws and regulations.
• Effective communication with all service partner supervisor/lead to manage routine transport operation and ensure quality services.
• Conduct risk assessments for all transportation-related operations and create contingency plans to mitigate these risks. Identify vulnerabilities in transportation systems and recommend solutions to reduce the impact of potential crises.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in transport management or a related field
• Demonstrated ability in team leadership and development.
• Strong geographical knowledge, particularly in areas relevant to transportation and logistics
• Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and analysis
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (masters preferred)

Relevant certifications in transportation management are a plus. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our transportation operations, driving efficiency, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

You should have earned an experience of more than 10-12  years in Transport Division .
