PR and Communication Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Develop an annual PR plan adhering to the wider marketing communications plan and its strategy, goals, budget and tactics
• Understand in depth the brand value proposition, brand positioning and tone of voice and ensure that PR and communications activities align with the brand goals
• Understand the story of the brand and its founder, and closely support the founder and CEO in the management of media interest and attention in her story and activities
• Develop positive media relations, seeking high-level placements in relevant media channels
• Coordinate all public relations and communications activities in the implementation of the annual PR plan
• Manage the day-to-day relationship with the appointed PR agency, directing their activities and outputs to ensure the goals and scope of work are being effectively achieved
• At all times work to protect and enhance the brands good reputation in the aviation sector and the wider business community
• Work closely with the Digital Marketing team to disseminate stories and PR content across key social media channels to engage audiences in an integrated communications approach
• Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media to:
• Develop PR content and coverage with high appeal to target customer segments and key influencers
• Manage media inquiries and align interview requests
• Create content for press releases, by-line articles, thought papers and keynote presentations
• Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising
• Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness of JetSetGos mission, products and services, and develop collaborations with key influencers
• Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results on a weekly, monthly & quarterly basis and produce activity reports, assessments and reviews as required
• Advise senior leadership and departmental management in all PR matters, and support spokespeople for the company during contact with the media
• Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
• Monitor, report and interpret competitor activities and media initiatives to ensure an effective response or defence of JetSetGos interests where necessary
• Develop and manage an internal communications plan to keep employees informed and engaged with the company’s mission, and inspired by our brand values and proposition including such activities as:
• Employee newsletter
• Events & townhall meetings
• Whatsapp and online channels
• Recognition and awards

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven working experience of not less than 5 years in public relations required
• Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level
• Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with English at a very high standard
• Capability to work on short deadlines and under pressure
• Solid experience with social media including LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.
• Event planning experience
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
• MBA in Marketing, Journalism or Communications any related discipline will be preferred.
