Job Description
- Develop and integrate electrical and electronic systems for vehicles, such as control units, infotainment systems, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS),w and electric powertrain components.
- Design wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts for vehicle electrical systems.
Component Specification and Selection :
- Specify and select appropriate electronic components and systems based on performance, cost, and reliability criteria.
- Evaluate suppliers and ensure components meet required specifications and standards.
Control Systems Development :
- Design and implement control algorithms and software for electronic systems. This may include embedded software development for microcontrollers and processors.
- Develop and test software to ensure compatibility with hardware and vehicle systems.
Testing and Validation :
- Conduct testing and validation of electrical and electronic systems to ensure they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems during development and in the field.
Compliance and Standards :
- Ensure designs comply with automotive industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, SAE, and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) requirements.
- Prepare documentation and reports to support regulatory approvals and certification processes.
Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with other engineering teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate electronic systems into vehicle platforms.
- Communicate with suppliers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and functionality of electronic components.
Prototyping and Development :
- Oversee the development and testing of prototypes to validate designs and iterate based on test results.
- Support the transition from prototype to production, including refining designs and addressing manufacturing challenges.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving :
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic system issues during development, testing, and in-field operation.
- Provide technical support and solutions to address any problems that arise in the deployment of electronic systems.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement :
- Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and trends in automotive electronics and apply this knowledge to enhance vehicle designs.
- Continuously seek ways to improve design processes, system performance, and overall efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain detailed records of design processes, testing procedures, and changes.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for design reviews, project updates, and compliance audits.
