Job Description

Our projects in the Urban Design space include

Junction improvements across different cities in India, with a focus on pedestrian and NMT priority and creating landmark intersections.

Street design across different scales including design, execution, project monitoring as well as focus on capacity building and stakeholder engagement.

Waterfront masterplan and guidelines focusing on climate resilience and incorporating green infrastructure techniques to create memorable waterfront public spaces.

Affordable housing projects and community based architectural projects.

We are looking for a passionate and quick-thinking urban designer based out of Lucknow with experience in street design execution and implementation for our work with URIDA, the Urban Road Infrastructure Development Agency in Uttar Pradesh, India. The role involves managing urban road construction schemes, including the implementation of CM GRIDS (Urban). The selected designer will contribute to safe, sustainable, and inclusive road infrastructure for all users, with a focus on pedestrians. Under URIDA s scheme, roads are evaluated based on criteria, and eligible roads are included in the work plan.

What will the Senior Urban Designer really do

Coordinating between key stakeholders maintaining clear / crisp communication channels between various stakeholders.
To coordinate collaborative capacities of the local government, international and national organizations
To understand the requirements of department / state government and stakeholder ensuring implementation of key projects.
Training capacity building to ULB Officials, Consultants, Contractors other related personals related to Project preparation, execution, operation, management maintenance with the help of team members.
Development of Guidelines, policies, SoPs and other related documents related to project.
Evaluate working drawing and design strategies as per urban standard.
Development of Model DPRs, Template and other related documents (Templates of cross sections etc.) work to support ULBs for development of Road DPRs and Guidance to the ULBs about on-site solution on case base.
Review and updating of Urban Road Directory and its related details with the support of other team members.
Any other work related to Urban Design assigned by Authority.
Regular site visits to partner cities to assist with design and construction related work.
