Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.
• Customize and extend existing themes and plugins to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with the design team to implement modern and responsive design using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Ensure websites are SEO-optimized, secure, and maintain high performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, including bugs, compatibility problems, and performance issues.
• Manage and update WordPress sites, ensuring compatibility with the latest updates and security patches.
• Work with APIs and third-party integrations to enhance functionality.
• Test websites on various browsers and devices for compatibility.
• Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO best practices.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and testing procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in WordPress development.

Key Skills:

• Strong proficiency in WordPress, including theme and plugin development.
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience with popular page builders like Elementor or WPBakery.
• Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and WordPress database structure.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Strong understanding of SEO principles and web performance optimization.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce.
• Knowledge of responsive web design and mobile-first design principles.
• Experience with website migration and backups.
• Understanding of website security practices and SSL certificates.
• Familiarity with debugging tools such as Chrome Developer Tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with WP CLI (Command Line Interface).
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js.
• Experience with custom post types and advanced custom fields (ACF).
• Familiarity with hosting environments (cPanel, Plesk, AWS, etc.).
• Knowledge of other content management systems (CMS) like Joomla, Drupal, or Magento.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in WordPress development (for Junior level) / 3-5 years (for Senior level)
