Senior/ Lead Design Engineer - PHE

Role & responsibilities

• Carrying out Design for Pharma Process Drainage System Network. Candidate needs to be familiar on Double Trap System with Sterile Configuration, Bio Waste Drains, High & Low TDS Drainage system, Steam Condensate Drainage system to avoid back flows etc. Process understanding of PIDs and translating them into Layouts is essential. It is essential to coordinate with Process Team and Vendors on understanding exact configuration of each equipment like Autoclaves, Filling machines, Washers, PW/WFI/CS Systems from drainage configuration point of view.
• Carrying out the design of Plumbing Drainage (Internal and External), Water supply, Stormwater Drainage, Rainwater Harvesting, Fire Protection System (PHE) system for Pharma Buildings, FMCG, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle manufacturers, EV battery manufacturers, Paint and industrial projects as per the applicable codes and standards and ensuring quality deliverables with safety in design.

FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM

• Responsible for the design and specification of fire suppression systems including wet- pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps, and storage tanks on a wide variety of project types.
• Knowledge of special systems such as foam, spray, mist, clean agent, wet/dry chemical, and carbon dioxide is preferred
• Keep up to date with latest industry practices, codes & standards like IS, NBC, NFPA, ISO, ASME
• Perform hydraulic calculations and work with outside resources to incorporate special hazard systems Preparation of data sheets and material requisition.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and other stake holders to develop a clash free system design.
• Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule and budget. • Review contractor shop drawings, field inspections, and testing and commissioning reports. Coordinate with all disciplines for ensuring the package battery limits and incorporation of Vendor data
• Review the 3D model on Navisworks and provide feedback to all the stakeholders.
• Responsible for overall technical management / co-ordination with Contractors and site team as required to resolve RFIs

PROCESS DRAINAGE & PLUMBING SYSTEM

• Responsibility for the overall design of Process Drainage System, Plumbing & fire protection systems & deliverables, including Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Tender Design / Documentation (including Technical Specifications, BOQ, Schedules and Drawings)
• Experience in design of water supply, sewerage and Process Drainage system including necessary calculations for Bio Waste, Process & other Sterile Drainage system. Candidate should have Proper understanding of sloping requirements to avoid Bio Burden Loads.
• Design of comprehensive underground sewerage and storm water systems. Sizing and selecting of location for STP , WTP & water tanks. Detail drawing layout for Process Building internal & external water and drainage system.
• Establishing water demand, sizing, and location of water storage.
• Design and Selection of Hot water system, Sizing of grease trap, organic waste convertor.
• Strong Process Drainage experience in design of Pharma, FMCG, industrial, type of Projects.
• Sizing and routine of water distribution system (Cold and Hot water).
• Sizing, selection and space planning of water and sewage treatment plant.
• Design and sizing of rainwater harvesting and disposable system.
• Design and sizing of storm and Process drainage system
• Organize, assign, and delegate necessary engineering and design tasks to produce construction documents in conjunction with a team of engineers and designers.
• Manage scope, budget, and schedule to meet project goals.
• Coordinate and collaborate real time with other disciplines such as electrical, structural, architectural and process to develop designs
• Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers.
• Ability to design complete distribution systems to current legislation and codes of practice for various type of buildings based on applicable Codes and Standards
• Perform quality review checks for 2D/3D modelling for Process drainage & Plumbing deliverables.
• Keep up to date with latest industry practices, codes & standards like IS, NBC, IBC, NFPA, IPC, UPC, CPHHEO manuals.
• Review contractor shop drawings, field inspections, and testing and commissioning reports. Coordinate with all disciplines for ensuring the package battery limits and incorporation of Vendor data.

Qualification :

• Education - B.E / B. Tech Civil / Mechanical engineering, or any related engineering field from a recognized institution.

Experience

• Minimum 10-17 years Experience in design Consultancy or Contractor (Essential)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks is essential
• Experience with any 3D modeling tool like SmartPlant 3D, Civil 3D or REVIT, Bluebeam, Knowledge of Auto Pipe, Autocad Plant 3D will be an added advantage
