Staff Software Engineer

The ideal candidate will have strong design and programming experience with the modern Java technology stack. They will have experience architecting and/or implementing enterprise grade, distributed applications. Additionally, has a good understanding of testing methodologies and takes pride in building solutions with high quality. Finally, they will be able to function effectively in a globally distributed, multi-cultural environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work in and potentially lead a team of development and test engineers in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver product on a fast cadence
• Write high quality and high performing code meeting key business requirements
• Work in a highly collaborative environment, interacting constantly with the team and external stakeholders to ensure high value and high quality delivery
• Design architecture capable of running in a distributed application environment
• Work daily across the globe and multiple time zones
• Develop test driven/test first unit and functional/integration tests
• Understand business objectives linked to the development and application of technology

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of related experience using Java to design, develop and test applications.
• 3 or more years of enterprise grade solution development experience using relational databases preferably with PostgreSQL
• Proven experience in Java performance optimization which covers data structure, CPU, thread, memory, network, and storage access
• 1-2 years of experience using Spring Framework.
• Experience working in teams implementing large scale, distributed solutions.
• 1 or more years of Azure or other Public Cloud experience.
• 1 or more years of working experience with CI/CD Pipelines.
• Experience working in with Agile/Scrum.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including to senior and/or executive management
  

Desired Skills and Experience :

• Kubernetes, Docker, and Microservice Development
• Git
• Azure DevOps Services or other ALM systems
• Kafka and/or other streaming platforms

Added Plus

• Full stack development experience

Travel Requirements: 0 - 10%
