Manufacturing Excellence Manager

Role & responsibilities

Lead Manufacturing Excellence across ICMLs. Position will be responsible for driving Manufacturing Excellence initiatives across ICMLs, which includes delivering sustainable improvement in Conversion Cost, Strengthening Safety & Quality Culture, OEE/productivity improvement, executing capability development on Systematic Problem Solving through projects, Performance management, building core competencies & capabilities to deliver Best-In-Class performance in ICML Organization.

Preferred candidate profile

• Works with Leadership team to ensure alignment of Manufacturing Excellence strategic direction & objectives, garnering support for deploying Excellence Initiatives.
• Drive Achieving Continuous Excellence (ACE) across ICMLs in India. Lead Operational excellence initiatives of waste identification and elimination in all mfg. & non-mfg. processes.
• Driving ACE Agenda & journey across by launching Basics as well as Pillars of Excellence.
• Responsible for training Factory teams on various Tools & Techniques of Excellence.
• Support Factories on Waste identification and elimination through Capability building activities & handholding.
• Conduct ACE-internal assessments across ICMLs on Half-Yearly basis. Develop and drive action plan to improve implementation towards Mission-70.
• Work closely with Operations Head bringing out insights for improvement areas basis analytics & overall performance analysis. Apply Excellence Tools & Techniques to support Productivity improvement identifying & driving OEE improvement activities.
• Performance Tracking of Excellence journey w.r.t Master Plan & Business level KPIs. Share the progress in timely manner. Highlight issues, mitigation steps and support required.
• Identify & drive specific initiatives to develop Excellence Culture. Define timelines, benefit estimation & Monitor Progress.
• Develop specific Capability Building Modules. Roll-out the same across factories.
• Identify, develop & roll-out relevant Standards for various Pillar Steps & activities throughout ACE journey.
• Monitor delivery and status of the various identified improvement projects. Also consolidate information to report Benefits accrued throughout ACE journey.
• Identify implementation of right programs for right location; Update the steering committee on project status and delivery of the programs.
• Lead Kaizen Events, Workshops and training to foster a culture of Continuous Improvement within ICML Team.
• Share & Replicate Best Practices/initiatives from across factories to drive consistency and standardization of excellence practices. Consolidate the gains achieved through the same.
• Capability Development- Undertake Training Need Identification & design of training programs / knowledge sharing platforms for capability development across the manufacturing teams
• Manage training for new joiners as part of their induction in collaboration with HR.

Identify & guide through appropriate projects for new joiners to ensure understanding & alignment w.r.t various processes & readiness for role requirements w.r.t Excellence initiative.

Skills and Knowledge

• Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Food Tech) with a post-graduation in Operations Management
• Minimum 15+ years of experience across cross functional exposure in manufacturing/supply chain (preferably) in the Foods industry with majority in Manufacturing Functions and with minimum 5+ years of experience in managing Manufacturing Excellence across multiple factories.
• Certification from reputed institute on TPM/WCM/TQM/LEAN & hand-on experience in multi-site implementation is must.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certified from ASQ will be added advantage.
