Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Data Engineering to build, train, and lead our Data Engineering team in architecting, implementing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in data engineering, strong leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of advanced data technologies and architectures.

Responsibilities :

- Build, train, and lead a team of data engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support complex data processing, analytics, and machine learning applications

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and product managers to gather and understand data requirements, and deliver scalable and efficient data solutions

- Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement

- Define and enforce best practices for data engineering, including data quality assurance, data governance, performance optimization, and scalable data storage solutions

- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and tools to enhance data infrastructure scalability, reliability, and performance, leveraging cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure

- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs and solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

- Develop, deploy, and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, ETL processes, data models, and infrastructure architecture

- Build a robust data warehouse using cloud technologies to support our analysts and data scientists to consume the data for analytics purposes

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or engineering, plus a related technical field master's degree strongly preferred

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role, overseeing and guiding technical teams

- Strong programming skills in Java and Python, including proficiency in using pandas for data manipulation and analysis, and proficiency in SQL for data querying

- Hands-on experience with both relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)

- Strong hands-on on data warehouse platforms like Athena, Redshift, Google Big Query, Snowflake, DataBricks

- Solid understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, with practical experience in designing and implementing data solutions using services like S3, EMR, BigQuery, etc.

- Significant exposure to and competence in multiple business intelligence and ETL/ELT products

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders

- Fluent in written and spoken English

- Must be willing to relocate to Mysore/Bangalore.
