Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced OpenStack Cloud Solution Architect to lead and design scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions using OpenStack technologies.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure for our organization and clients.

As an OpenStack Cloud Solution Architect, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and senior leadership to ensure the effective deployment of OpenStack-based cloud solutions that meet business requirements and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement OpenStack cloud solutions that meet business requirements and industry standards.

- Lead the creation of cloud architecture blueprints, including compute, storage, networking, and automation components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

- Work with enterprise architects to ensure cloud solutions integrate seamlessly with existing IT infrastructures and enterprise systems.

- Architect OpenStack-based private and hybrid cloud environments with high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.

- Select the best cloud technologies and components, ensuring that solutions meet both technical and business goals.

- Oversee the implementation of OpenStack environments from inception through production, including installation, configuration, and integration with existing systems.

- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to provision cloud resources and implement automation, including using tools like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.

- Ensure proper deployment of OpenStack components (e.g, Nova, Neutron, Glance, Cinder, Keystone, Horizon, etc.) in accordance with project needs and best practices.

- Continuously monitor the performance of OpenStack clouds and identify areas for optimization, implementing solutions to improve performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.

- Work with DevOps and Operations teams to optimize the cloud environment for automation, scaling, and resource utilization.

- Use monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenStack Telemetry (Ceilometer) to track cloud health and proactively address any issues.

- Implement security best practices across the OpenStack environment, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001).

- Design and enforce security policies for identity management, access control, encryption, and data protection within OpenStack.

- Work with security teams to conduct regular vulnerability assessments and ensure that the OpenStack environment is secure from internal and external threats.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions, with at least 3-5 years working specifically with OpenStack.

- Deep expertise in OpenStack components such as Nova (Compute), Neutron (Networking), Cinder (Block Storage), Swift (Object Storage), Keystone (Identity Service), Glance (Image Service), and Horizon (Dashboard).

- Strong hands-on experience with cloud automation tools (e.g, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

- Expertise in cloud infrastructure design, including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization.

- Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and how they integrate with OpenStack.

- Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, or OpenStack Telemetry.

- Knowledge of Linux and Unix-based systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) for cloud infrastructure management.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for cloud-based development and operations.

- Strong experience in cloud security best practices, including encryption, identity management, access control, and security protocols.

- Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, GCP) and how to integrate hybrid cloud solutions with OpenStack.

- Experience working in Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
