Ishan Technologies - OpenStack Cloud Engineer (3-4 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled and passionate OpenStack Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team.

As an OpenStack Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our OpenStack cloud infrastructure.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud environment, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud services.

Key Responsibilities :

OpenStack Deployment and Management :

- Deploy, configure, and maintain OpenStack components (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, etc.)

- Design and implement scalable and resilient OpenStack architectures.

- Automate OpenStack deployments and operations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.

- Monitor OpenStack health and performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.

Network and Storage Management :

- Configure and manage virtual networks, including VLANs, subnets, and security groups.

- Implement and manage storage solutions using Cinder, including block storage and object storage.

- Optimize network and storage performance.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution :

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex OpenStack issues.

- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.

- Provide technical support to internal teams and users.

Automation and Scripting :

- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.

- Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing :

- Create and maintain detailed documentation for OpenStack deployments and configurations.

- Share knowledge and best practices with team members.

- Contribute to the development of internal knowledge base articles.

Continuous Improvement :

- Stay up-to-date with the latest OpenStack releases and features.

- Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve our cloud infrastructure.

- Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning.

Qualifications :

Essential :

- 3+ years of experience in OpenStack administration and engineering.

- Strong understanding of OpenStack architecture and components.

- Proficiency in Linux system administration.

- Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).

- Experience with network and storage management.

- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Bachelor's/mater's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
