Job Description

Job Purpose: To ensure the safe, reliable, and sustainable operation of aging plant structures and assets by assessing integrity, planning and executing revamps, implementing robust asset management practices, and aligning with global standards to extend the plants operational life and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Conduct comprehensive assessments of the plants structural assets, including buildings, foundations, pipelines, storage tanks, and support structures, to identify integrity issues.
Utilize advanced inspection techniques (e.g., non-destructive testing, corrosion monitoring, and structural health monitoring) to evaluate the condition of aging structures.
Develop risk-based inspection (RBI) plans to prioritize critical areas for repair or replacement.
Lead the development of a revamp strategy to upgrade all structures to meet global standards (e.g., ISO) and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Prepare detailed engineering plans, including design specifications, material selection, and construction methodologies for structural rehabilitation.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure revamp plans are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with operational needs.
Implement an asset management system to monitor the lifecycle of structural assets, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of structural assets, including inspection records, maintenance history, and repair logs.
Use predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of aging structures.
Ensure all structural revamp and maintenance activities comply with local and international safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards related to structural integrity.
Promote a culture of safety and accountability among the workforce.
Oversee the execution of structural revamp projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Monitor project progress, address challenges, and report updates to senior management.
Prepare and manage budgets for structural integrity assessments, revamp projects, and asset management activities.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
Monitor expenditures and provide financial reports to senior management.
Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, maintenance, safety, and senior management) and external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory bodies, contractors, and consultants) to ensure alignment and support for structural revamp initiatives.
Communicate project updates, risks, and milestones to stakeholders regularly.
Identify and assess risks associated with structural integrity issues and revamp projects.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on plant operations and safety.
Ensure contingency plans are in place for potential structural failures or emergencies.
Stay updated on global standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural integrity and asset management.
Implement innovative solutions to address structural challenges and improve the plant’s overall reliability and safety.
Benchmark against industry standards to ensure the plant’s structures are world-class.
Maintain detailed records of structural assessments, revamp activities, and asset management processes.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
