DCS Operator (Ammonium Nitrate Plant) - Georgia

Job Purpose: Operate and monitor the Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable production of Ammonium Nitrate plant. Execute routine checks, troubleshoot operational issues, and coordinate with the production and maintenance team to achieve production targets while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Core Responsibilities

1. Operate and monitor the Distributed Control System (DCS) for Ammonium Nitrate production processes.
2. Execute start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures in adherence to standard operating guidelines.
3. Monitor process parameters, equipment status, and alarms to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
4. Collaborate with field operators to ensure proper functioning of equipment and resolve operational issues.
5. Participation in improvement projects, Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
6. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on DCS equipment.
7. Issue AVIs, Work permits and maintain the record of the maintenance.
8. Implement process adjustments based on data analysis and performance indicators to optimize production.
9. Calculating the overall energy, specific consumption of raw materials and utilities.
10. Analysing the lab report and take appropriate action to take corrective action after discussion with Shift in-charge.
11. Participate in RCA and energy reduction action and task.
12. Maintaining housekeeping and decorum of the control and plant
13. Trailing of JETs and operators.
14. Respond promptly to abnormal situations, alarms, and deviations from operational parameters.
15. Coordinate with the control room team to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
16. Record and maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation related to process operations.
17. Troubleshoot error or problems and escalating issues as and when needed.
