Tableau Developer - Data Virtualization (5-7 yrs)

Role Description :

We are looking for a skilled Tableau Developer to join our team. As a Tableau Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying interactive and performance-optimized dashboards to support business and client needs.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders and clients to understand their reporting requirements, create insightful data visualizations, and ensure that the dashboards deliver high-quality results within defined timeframes. This is a remote position that offers the opportunity to work in an agile environment with dynamic teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirement Analysis :

- Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders and clients to understand their reporting and analytics needs.

- Gather requirements to design and develop interactive dashboards and reports that deliver insights based on business goals.

- Regularly update stakeholders on project progress and outcomes.

Dashboard Design & Development :

- Design, develop, and deploy Tableau dashboards that are visually engaging and aligned with business requirements.

- Ensure proper visualization and representation of data using appropriate charts, graphs, tables, and filters.

- Implement complex calculations and measures to enhance the data analysis.

Data Integration & Optimization :

- Identify and integrate relevant data sources for Tableau reporting (i.e., databases, APIs, spreadsheets).

- Optimize Tableau dashboards and reports to ensure high performance and responsiveness.

- Perform data blending and join different data sources effectively in Tableau.

SQL & Excel Analysis :

- Write and execute SQL queries for data extraction and transformation, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data.

- Perform Excel analysis to support data validation and ad-hoc reporting needs.

- Maintain data integrity and accuracy in the dashboards.

Cloud Publishing & Maintenance :

- Publish Tableau reports and dashboards to Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server.

- Maintain data pipelines and ensure regular data updates for dashboards published on the cloud or server.

- Monitor and ensure dashboard availability and functionality.

Agile Development Process :

- Work within an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure timely delivery of dashboards and reports.

- Participate in sprints, stand-ups, and sprint reviews to communicate progress and address blockers.

- Adhere to timelines while maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting :

- Monitor dashboard performance and take proactive steps to optimize performance where necessary.

- Troubleshoot any issues related to data accuracy, visualization rendering, or connectivity.

Documentation & Reporting :

- Maintain documentation for data sources, dashboard designs, and business logic used in reports.

- Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members and clients as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- 4+ years of experience in developing Tableau dashboards and reports.

- Expertise in Tableau Desktop and Server for data visualization and report publishing.

- Strong understanding of core Tableau concepts, including data source joins, filters, calculated fields, and performance pitfalls.

- Experience in creating interactive dashboards with features like drill-down, tooltips, and parameter controls.

- SQL expertise for querying databases (i.e., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).

- Experience with Excel for data validation, analysis, and reporting.

- Familiarity with Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server deployment and management.

Business/Domain Knowledge :

- Experience in marketing analytics, especially in performance marketing analytics and advertising analytics.

- Knowledge or prior experience in Marketing Platform APIs such as Google Ads, Facebook, GA4, or other digital marketing platforms is highly preferred.

- Familiarity with Google Analytics, AdWords, or other advertising platforms is a plus.

Data Management & Performance Optimization :

- Understanding of how to optimize Tableau workbooks and queries for large data sets.

- Ability to create automated workflows and manage data pipelines.

- Performance tuning of Tableau dashboards to handle large datasets and complex queries.

Soft Skills :

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and clients.

- Ability to analyze market trends, customer behaviour, and translate them into actionable insights.

- Strong problem-solving abilities with an attention to detail.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and work in an Agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in Marketing Analytics or advertising analytics is a significant advantage.

- Familiarity with data visualization best practices and principles.

- Knowledge of other BI tools such as Power BI is a plus.

- Experience with data warehousing concepts and solutions (i.e., Snowflake, Redshift)
