Software Development Advisor

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Software Development Advisor to provide expert guidance and support to our software development teams. The role involves advising on best practices, technology selection, architecture, and project execution to ensure high-quality, scalable, and efficient software solutions. As an advisor, you will leverage your deep technical expertise and industry knowledge to influence product development and mentor the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, helping them navigate complex software challenges and ensuring they adhere to industry best practices and company standards.
• Software Architecture & Design: Advise on the design and architecture of software systems, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Technology Strategy: Stay up to date with the latest software development trends, tools, and technologies. Recommend and advocate for the adoption of appropriate new technologies and methodologies.
• Project Planning & Execution: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define software project goals, scope, and timelines. Provide input on project prioritization and risk management.
• Code Reviews & Quality Assurance: Conduct regular code reviews, ensuring that the development teams follow coding standards, optimize for performance, and maintain high code quality.
• Process Improvement: Advise on improving development workflows and processes, including agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Provide expert advice in identifying and resolving complex software-related issues during development, testing, or production.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements, progress, and expectations.
• Mentoring & Coaching: Offer guidance and training to junior and mid-level developers, fostering their professional growth and helping them expand their technical skill sets.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Help create and maintain software development documentation, including architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and development guidelines.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks in software projects and offer strategies for mitigation, balancing technical and business needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
