Lead Endpoint Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Endpoint Engineer to oversee the design, implementation, and management of endpoint solutions across our organization. The Lead Endpoint Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the security, stability, and efficiency of all endpoints, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and virtual machines. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to deliver robust endpoint management solutions while ensuring compliance with corporate security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Endpoint Management Strategy: Develop and execute the organization’s endpoint management strategy, including hardware, software, and mobile device management, ensuring scalability, security, and user productivity.
• System Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and manage endpoint configurations and policies, including OS deployment, application packaging, imaging, and endpoint security solutions.
• Security Oversight: Lead endpoint security initiatives, ensuring endpoints are fully protected with the latest security patches, antivirus solutions, endpoint detection, and response (EDR) tools.
• Automation & Scripting: Automate endpoint management processes (software distribution, patching, system updates, etc.) using tools like PowerShell, Bash, or other automation frameworks.
• Tool Selection & Optimization: Evaluate and select endpoint management and security tools (such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, or System Center Configuration Manager), and optimize their configuration to meet business and security needs.
• Incident & Problem Management: Lead troubleshooting efforts for endpoint-related incidents, ensuring quick resolution of issues while implementing preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, such as Network, Security, and Support, to ensure that endpoint management integrates seamlessly with broader IT infrastructure and security policies.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Create and maintain endpoint monitoring dashboards and reports to track endpoint performance, security compliance, and software deployment status.
• Training & Mentoring: Lead and mentor a team of endpoint engineers, providing guidance on best practices and training junior engineers on endpoint management solutions.
• Compliance & Auditing: Ensure endpoint management processes comply with industry standards and regulations (such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS) and perform regular audits to ensure adherence to policies.
• Patch Management: Oversee patch management processes, including the deployment of OS and software updates across all endpoints, and ensure timely compliance with security patches and software releases.
• User Experience: Ensure that endpoint solutions provide a seamless user experience, minimizing downtime, performance issues, and ensuring the availability of critical software applications for employees.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
