EPIC Clinical Analyst

Key Responsibilities: EPIC System Implementation and Support: Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to implement and optimize EPIC systems for clinical workflows. Configure EPIC applications based on the needs of various departments (e.g., nursing, pharmacy, physicians). Provide support for EPIC-related issues, troubleshooting technical problems, and performing system upgrades. User Training & Support: Conduct training sessions for end-users (clinical staff) on how to use EPIC software efficiently. Provide ongoing support for users to troubleshoot issues and guide them through workflows. Create and update training documentation and materials. Workflow Optimization: Analyze clinical workflows and identify areas for improvement in the use of EPIC systems. Work with clinical leaders to streamline processes and ensure EPIC functionality supports clinical operations. Data Management & Reporting: Support the development and maintenance of clinical reports, dashboards, and analytics using EPIC’s reporting tools. Ensure accurate data entry and data extraction for clinical use, including meeting regulatory and compliance standards. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with project managers, IT, and other healthcare professionals to implement projects and initiatives that improve EPIC utilization. Coordinate with EPIC vendors and external partners for updates, troubleshooting, and system enhancements. System Testing and Upgrades: Test new features, patches, and system upgrades to ensure they meet clinical needs. Participate in the planning and implementation of system upgrades or new module rollouts. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that EPIC’s configurations comply with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA. Assist in maintaining secure access to patient data and ensuring the system adheres to clinical best practices. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Nursing, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience working with EPIC EHR systems (certification or prior EPIC experience is often required). Clinical experience (nursing, pharmacy, or other healthcare roles) is often preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in EPIC applications (e.g., EpicCare, Willow, Beacon, etc.). Experience with SQL, reporting tools, or other data analysis software. Strong understanding of clinical workflows, terminology, and healthcare regulations. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clinical staff and IT teams. Analytical skills to assess workflows and recommend improvements. Strong problem-solving skills, especially related to system configurations and troubleshooting. Certifications: EPIC certification (various modules such as EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, etc.) is often required. IT or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
