Senior QA Engineer

Job Description

Job Purpose

Highly experienced quality assurance professional responsible for meticulously testing software applications by manually executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to ensure software quality, with a strong focus on complex scenarios, regression testing, and mentoring junior testers, while having a deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Test Case Design and Execution:
  • Thoroughly analyze user requirements and design comprehensive test cases covering functional, non-functional, and edge cases.
  • Develop detailed test scripts and execute manual tests across various platforms and browsers.
  • Prioritize test cases based on risk assessment and project timelines.
• Defect Management:
  • Accurately identify and document software defects using bug tracking tools, providing clear and concise descriptions of issues with screenshots and steps to reproduce.
  • Collaborate with developers to effectively communicate defects and ensure timely resolution.
  • Monitor defect status and track bug fixes through the development cycle.
• Regression Testing:
  • Execute comprehensive regression test suites to ensure new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionality.
  • Identify and report any regressions discovered during testing.
• Leadership and Mentorship:
  • Provide guidance and support to junior testers by reviewing test cases, sharing best practices, and facilitating knowledge transfer.
  • Lead small testing teams on specific projects, assigning tasks and ensuring quality standards are met.
• Test Strategy and Planning:
  • Participate in requirement analysis meetings to understand project needs and contribute to test strategy development.
  • Estimate testing effort, identify testing risks, and create detailed test plans.
• Technical Skills:
  • Basic understanding of programming languages and scripting to enhance test automation capabilities.
  • Good understanding on API testing and Database.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Effectively communicate testing status, findings, and potential issues to stakeholders including developers, project managers, and product owners.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

Knowledge and Experience

• Strong Manual Testing Expertise
• Strong knowledge on Testing Methodologies
• Good Hands-on in Defect Management Tools and Test Management Tools
• Agile Development
• Good knowledge on API and Database
• Knowledge on AccelQ is an added advantage
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in quality assurance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines successfully.
• Organized and results driven. Domain knowledge w. r. t US Mortgage and any Finance or Banking related is good to have.

This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.
