Assistant Manager - QC

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and manage QC team members to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the production process.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests on flexible packaging products to verify compliance with specifications.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and protocols for flexible packaging production.
• Identify areas for process improvement and work with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, R&D, and engineering) to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Analyze data from quality tests and production processes to recommend adjustments that enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Assist in optimizing production processes to reduce defects, rework, and waste.
• Ensure that products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements related to flexible packaging.
• Coordinate with customers to address any quality-related concerns or complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, certifications, and regulations that apply to flexible packaging (e.g., ISO,BRC,GMP, FDA).
• Maintain accurate records of quality control inspections, test results, and actions taken to address non-conformities.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting quality trends, root causes of defects, and actions taken.
• Support audits and inspections by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards.
• Provide training to QC team members and production staff on quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and best practices for flexible packaging.
• Mentor junior QC staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality standards.
• Ensure QC testing equipment and tools are properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule equipment servicing and repairs when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors OR Masters degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering, Quality Control, or related field.
• 15-25 years of experience in quality control within the flexible packaging industry.
• Strong knowledge of flexible packaging materials, such as printing, lamination, inks, slitting, Blown film , Cylinder and Pouching.
• Familiarity with quality standards (ISO, BRC etc.) and customer specifications.
• Proficiency in using quality control tools, testing equipment, and software for data analysis.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a team and collaborate across departments.
