Program Manager - Oil & Energy - Upstream Sector (12-18 yrs)

Job Role: Program Manager Oil & Energy Upstream (Data science).

Job Summary :

- We are seeking a Program Manager with a strong background in oil and gas upstream processes and managing large-scale data science programs within the Oil & Energy - upstream sector, with a focus on emissions, energy, and carbon management.

- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in client management and end-to-end deliverables, ensuring successful outcomes for complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

- As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of datadriven products and services that support the sustainability and efficiency goals of our clients.

- You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, analysts, developers, and industry experts to meet project objectives and exceed client expectations.

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in program management within the Oil & Energy sector, focusing on emissions, energy, and carbon management.

- Proven track record in delivering large-scale data science projects with significant client interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical background:

- Strong understanding of oil and gas - upstream processes including well operations, oil and gas terminals (Including Gas turbines, compressors, pumps, skimmers and flares) and pipelines.

- Strong understanding of the data analytics software and solutions in this ecosystem for applying analytics.

- Good with the concepts of soft-sensors, virtual metering, predictive maintenance, energy management and others.

Client Engagement & Management:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and challenges in emissions, energy, and carbon management.

- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Program & Project Management:

- Lead large-scale data science projects from inception to completion, focusing on emissions, energy optimization, and carbon management.

- Establish project scope, budgets, timelines, and development plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives.

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of projects, including resource allocation, team coordination, and risk management.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

- Manage and mentor teams of analysts, developers, and data scientists to deliver high-quality results.

- Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement within the team.

Technical Expertise & Innovation:

- Utilize advanced project management tools (e. , MS Project) and methodologies (e. , PMP) to manage project deliverables.

- Apply knowledge of data science, ML, and statistical methods (Python, R) to drive project success.

- Leverage experience with MVA tools (e. , SIMCA, Minitab, Seeq) and data visualization platforms (e. , Tableau, Palantir) to enhance project outcomes.

Strategic Planning & Implementation:.

- Collaborate with business leaders to translate strategic goals into actionable project plans.

- Develop strategies for integrating new technologies and data analytics approaches to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprints.

Quality & Compliance:

- Ensure all projects comply with industry standards and regulations related to emissions and energy management.

- Maintain rigorous quality control throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.

Reporting & Communication:.

- Provide regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and senior management on project status, risks, and outcomes.

- Document project processes, methodologies, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong expertise in data science, statistical methods, ML, and Python.

- Advanced project management certification (e. , PMP) and proficiency with project management tools (e. , MS Project).

- Experience with MVA tools (e. , SIMCA, Minitab, Seeq) and data visualization platforms (e. , Tableau, Palantir). Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.

- Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
