Research Scientist - Gene Therapy

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the beta-Thalassemia program to pre-clinical development milestones.

2. Contribution as subject matter expert in hemoglobinopathies (e.g. beta-thalassemia).

3. Planning, designing, execution, troubleshooting and timely completion of experiments.

4. Planning for mid-scale process development experiments for hematopoietic stem cell based cell therapy product development.

5. Proof of concept studies, preclinical toxicity and translational development of cell therapy product, specifically in Hemoglobinopathies / b-thalassemia.

6. Maintenance of hematopoietic stem cells and mammalian cell culture facility / cell therapy facility for GLP/ GMP compliance.

7. Data analysis and presentation in team meetings / discussions for strategies and operational challenges related to experiments.

8. Present and interpret experiment data / analytical results on regular basis with the supervisor. 9. Actively involved in setting up new cell therapy-process development, equipment procurement, installation and qualification.

10. People management: Guiding and training the team members including work planning and execution of experiments, LNB and data review.
