Solar Technician

Job Title: Solar Field Technician (Entry to Senior Level)

Job Purpose:
We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team in the maintenance, testing and technical support of solar PV plants. The role involves working on-site, performing routine maintenance on solar modules, inverters, and electrical systems. You will also manage non-technical teams, ensuring smooth operations at our solar energy sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Routine Maintenance: Perform regular checks on solar modules, inverters, and related equipment.
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute maintenance activities to avoid system malfunctions and respond to any technical issues.
• Inverter and Air-Filter Checks: Inspect inverter systems and clean air filters to ensure efficiency.
• Module Inspections & Tightening: Perform visual inspections of solar modules and tighten structural components.
• Cable Inspections & Meter Readings: Check electrical cables and note down meter readings to monitor system performance.
• Team Coordination: Work closely with non-technical teams to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
• Technology Integration: Use mobile apps, measurement devices, and robotic cleaning systems to perform routine tasks.

Qualifications:

• Entry Level:
  
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication (ECE), or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in solar field work.
• Mid-Level:
  
• Diploma/Certification in relevant field.
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in solar PV field work (installation, maintenance, repairs).
• Experience handling AC & DC electrical systems.
• Senior Level:
  
• Diploma/Certification in relevant field (Bachelors degree preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in the solar field, with a strong focus on maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of solar systems.
• Leadership experience, including team coordination and managing non-technical staff.

Skills Required:

• Proficient in using smartphones, mobile apps, and laptops for work tasks.
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and solar equipment.
• Experience with testing equipment like multimeters and telecommunications systems.
• Ability to resolve communication issues in solar PV plants.
• Expertise in using measurement devices, testing equipment, and robotic cleaning systems.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead non-technical teams effectively.
