Senior Copy Editor

Role & responsibilities

- Should have Level 2 editing capability

- Should be fluent in language editing, style editing, and pre-editing

- Should have sufficient XML knowledge to parse and clear XML errors

- Should be flexible to work in any platform (Word, TeX, BaKoMa, or any in-house developed platforms)

- Should have both STM knowledge (Chemistry an added advantage)

- Should be able to edit math and equations using the MathType or any other software

- Should know the math rules and be able to identify variables and accordingly format them

- Should have technical bent of mind to identify automatable areas

- Should be able to work in alternate shifts (6 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 10 pm)

- Work from office (Chennai or Pondy) is an preferred though not mandatory

- Should be able to work from Pondy office to attend any training programs or customer visits

- Knowledge in chemistry or qualifications in chemistry or chemistry-related fields is an added advantage

- Knowledge of working in TeX or LaTeX or BaKoMa is an added advantage

- Level 3 editing capability is an added advantage

- Working on XML-based platforms will be an added advantage
