Employment Type: Full-Time on-site

Salary level: Fixed: 21.6 - 24 lacs per annum (CTC); bonuses after probation period (no

limits)

WHO WE ARE:

International Pharmaceutical company INNOVA HEALTHCARE (part of EssGen Group) with offices in

Mumbai & Hyderabad, India and in Moscow, Russia. We have several business lines:

- API and Intermediates distribution from India (80%), China, Thailand, and South Korea

(together 20%);

- Columns, Reference and Working standards, impurity supply to CIS market via our own

distribution company in Russia;

- Technology development at our own state-of-art 7000 sq.ft. RnD center in Hyderabad;

- CMO of developed technologies as part of backward integration process;

Company is actively developing in all business lines by (i) developing new APIs; (ii) commercializing

them at CMO and further marketing; (iii) entering new markets across the Globe with own APIs and

distribution of APIs from our existing and new partners.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented candidate for the role to drive growth in our API

(Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) distribution business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for

maintain transparent process of sourcing and purchase process at all levels, identifying new business

opportunities with existing and new suppliers, portfolio management , maintaining relationships

with key partners, and developing strategic partnerships. This role requires a thorough

understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in API sales and distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement:

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for APIs, intermediates, and excipients

in line with production and R&D needs.

• Identify market trends, forecast price fluctuations, and plan purchases to ensure cost

efficiency.

• Build and maintain a robust supplier base for API procurement to meet both current

and future needs.

Supplier Management:

• Identify and qualify global and local API suppliers based on quality, reliability, and

cost-effectiveness.

• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure long-term partnerships with

favorable terms.

• Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with cGMP, regulatory, and

quality standards.

• Establish contingency plans to mitigate risks of supply chain disruptions.

Procurement Operations:

• Oversee day-to-day procurement activities, ensuring timely availability of APIs and

related materials for production and development.

• Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to ensure material

compatibility and compliance.

• Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts, considering

lead times and market dynamics.

• Implement and monitor procurement KPIs, such as cost savings, on-time deliveries,

and supplier performance.

Cost Optimization:

• Drive initiatives to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality or

compliance.

• Monitor global market dynamics to capitalize on favorable pricing opportunities.
• Benchmark API costs across suppliers and regions to ensure competitive pricing.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure all procured materials meet regulatory requirements, including cGMP, ICH,

and regional regulatory standards (e.g., USFDA, EMA).

• Maintain documentation for audits, certifications, and inspections related to API

procurement.

• Work closely with quality assurance teams to address supplier deviations or non-

conformities.

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and mentor the procurement team to build expertise in API sourcing and

supply chain management.

• Conduct training sessions on regulatory requirements, market trends, and

negotiation strategies.

• Foster collaboration between procurement, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of APIs, their market offer and demand, and the

regulatory landscape of the pharmaceutical industry.

• Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Pharmaceutical Sciences,

Chemistry, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

• Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in Purchase- Sourcing within the

pharmaceutical or chemical distribution industry. Vast knowledge of existing

manufacturers and suppliers in different therapeutic groups.

• Skills:
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced organizational skills for maintaining entire Purchase dept, divirsing ,tasks within it, tracking the processes.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with suppliers, attend conferences,

and participate in industry events.
