Senior Engineer Kafka Infrastructure Engineer, AVP

Role Description

SRE for Kafka and GCP, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our Kafka clusters and GCP infrastructure. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and improve our systems overall health.

Your key responsibilities

• Incident Management:Respond to and resolve incidents related to Kafka and GCP infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on services.
• Monitoring and Alerting:Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
• Collaboration:Work closely with development, operations, and other support teams to identify and resolve issues, and to implement best practices.
• Documentation:Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting procedures, system configurations, and operational processes.

Your skills and experience

Skills and Quality

• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting.
• Basic Knowledge of Kafka cluster and components
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services and On Prem infrastructure.
• Utilize containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
• An excellent communicator (written & verbal) with fluent English.

Education/Certification

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent)
