Senior Site Reliability Engineer

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud Networking, youll collaborate with operations and

development teams. You will maintain and manage our cloud computing platforms that provide

customers with sophisticated computing resources and networking capabilities (e.g. Load

balancers, firewalls, Kubernetes containers) that scales with workloads. Youll create tools to

collect analytics, automate the deployment, monitoring and management of the platform.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Akamai Technologies, you will be responsible for:

• Use configuration management tools to deploy virtual infrastructure and software

updates security and safely.

• Develop tools and scripts with shell/python/yaml languages to automate the creation and

configuration of the infrastructure with Ansible/Saltstack/Terraform

• Creating monitoring solutions based on Prometheus metrics and Grafana dashboards
• Work with cross functional teams to define performance metrics, conduct data analysis

and create reliability requirements for Akamais cloud computing infrastructure

• Troubleshoot and resolve platform faults and escalations, participate in on-call rotations,

guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Have professional experience in a Site Reliability or system engineering, or software

development role, with large scale distributed systems.

• Have experience with programming in Linux environments, such as python and shell

scripting.

• Have experience and knowledge with networking technologies such as routing, firewall

and DNS

• Have experience with open-source monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Have experience with configuration management tools such as Saltstack, Ansible,

Terraform, Jenkins
